This little rental place is SO well situated to the San Lorenzo Central Market, the train station, tours, the Uffizi is a 5-10 minute walk, the Accademia was about 10 minutes away. It set right in the middle. And with AC for these very hot few summer weeks, two bathrooms with two bedrooms, restaurants lining the streets directly down the four flights of stairs.

Loved this apartment. Our contact Guilio was very accommodating and responded quickly to our questions. The apartment is so close to the sights of Florence. The market is right across the street. Perfect for a morning coffee and snack. There are multiple restaurants downstairs on the street. So convenient!! The apartment was very clean. The skylights in the ceiling made the apartment light. Kitchen is well equipped if you have the desire to cook. To get to the apartment you must be able to climb stairs to the fourth floor. The steps are narrow and with luggage it is a bit tricky. But well worth the effort!! Walking distance to the train station made getting anywhere outside of Florence easy. Thank you!!

We had a good stay here. You cant get any closer to the market! It's fantastic to pop over there for shopping and meals or morning cappuccinos. The apartment was clean and comfortable. There was noise at night from the square so ear plugs helped with that. Check in was easy and instructions were clear.

This was a lovely apartment across the street from the central market in Florence. We enjoyed the short, scenic walks to many of the city's beautiful attractions. The hosts, Giulio&Cosimo, were outstanding and went above and beyond, making great recommendations and quickly addressing any issues or questions that came up. There are a few things to be aware of about this apartment: 1. As described in the description it's on the 4th floor with some steep, narrow stairs. Giulio&Cosimo were great and helped us carry the luggage up and we're in pretty good shape so it wasn't a big issue for us. 2. One of the bedrooms looks out over the market, a lively and popular area. This meant that it remained a little noisy into the night. This only impacted one of the bedrooms, but it wasn't so much that it prevented us from sleeping. Giulio&Cosimo were outstanding hosts, we really loved the city and our location in it, and we'll definitely be coming back to Florence!

The Mercato Centrale is Europe's largest covered food hall, built in stone, iron, and glass in 1874.

The San Lorenzo Market is actually comprised of two separate markets, an indoor market, known as the Mercato Centrale, or Central Market, home to all things food and the outdoor section that lines the surroundings streets of the large Mercato Centrale building, selling leather, clothing and many souvenirs.
The Central Market is a two-level food market, making up the second half of the San Lorenzo Market. The Mercato Centrale is in a beautiful building designed and built from 1870-74 when Florence was still capital of Italy. With cast iron and glass all around, the building mixes classic to the modern.
On the ground floor, you will find the butchers, fishmongers, fruit and vegetable vendors and small specialty shops selling local olive oils, meats, cheeses and much, much more.
Recently re-opened to the public and renewed in 2014 is the second level to the market, open seven days a week from 10am through midnight. With 3000 square meters of space and 500 seats, the area is large enough for twelve individual stalls or sections, each dedicated to a different Italian specialty such as cheese, Chianti wine or baked goods.
The district will never end to surprise you! Did you know that in San Lorenzo district was born Carlo Lorenzini, called “Collodi”, author of the famous novel “The Adventures of Pinocchio”?
